Today marks the third and final day of the ‘Three Day Quote Challenge’ and doesn’t time fly when you’re having fun?
In admiration of the gorgeous, sunny weather, today I’ve selected a quote by Walt Whitman.
‘Keep your face towards the sunshine and all the shadows will fall behind you.’
The reason I picked this quote was because optimism is integral to personal growth. My interpretation of ‘Keep your face towards the sunshine’ is that you should look towards a bright future, focus on the positive things and keep moving forward. Your former worries, uncertainties about the future, pessimism and any negativity that is weighing you down, deserves to ‘fall behind you’ just like ‘shadows’ and the past.
Sometimes worries about what has happened and doubts about what will happen, prevent us from advancing and enjoying now. For myself, I want to be more appreciative about all the delightful things in my life and be grateful for what I have and what I’ve achieved. I look forward to the new and exciting things the future will bring.
Today I am going to make a conscious effort to have a more optimistic attitude. I have been blessed with so much and have lots to be thankful for.
Let’s face the sunshine and spread a little sunshine together!
Thank you once again to Cloud and Sunshine for nominating me for this challenge. I have thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it and encourage you all to participate.
Ps. One of my lovely patient’s told me it is the hottest 19th April (21 ºC) in the history of 10 years (For us Brits this is a big deal) ! The new found optimist in me knows this weather will continue- Ha.
